The coach is responsible for developing and implementing high-quality sports and recreational programs for youth, teens, and adults. Key duties include officiating games, motivating participants, and maintaining a safe, clean environment consistent with YMCA values.

The incumbent will be responsible for the development, organization and implementation of high quality sports and recreational programs for youth, teens and adults. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Implement and supervise program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values and objectives.

Plan structured activities to stimulate the growth and development of participants.
3.
Develop sports based curriculum for age appropriate execution.
4.
Motivate and direct program participants, parents, staff and volunteers; be a team player.
5.
Officiate, coach and supervise sport programs as required.
6.
Maintain up-to-date participant, volunteer and program records (rosters, attendance and scorebooks).
7.
Develop and maintain positive relations with children, parents and other staff.
Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
8.
Enforce the rules and behavior expectations of the area.
9.
Maintain program areas and adhere to program standards in regards to equipment, storage, safety and cleanliness.
10.
Ensure program areas are set-up in accordance to facility schedules and the necessary layout for respective sport.
11.
Attend all staff meetings.
12.
Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
13.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Work schedule will include daytime, evening and weekend hours.
All positions require the following clearances for employment prior to the date of hire. Clearances are accepted within 2 years of the hire date. Employees may be compensated up to $50.00 for clearances once the probationary period has been passed.

Candidates must be at least 15 years old with a minimum of one year of sports-related experience and obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 30 days. Required clearances include PA Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Certification, and FBI Clearance.
