About the role

The ESE Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality, inclusive instruction and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. They must ensure IDEA compliance and collaborate with families and staff to foster a productive learning environment.

Target Total Annual Compensation Range

$54,879.00 – $73,402.00

Compensation & incentive breakdown

  • We believe in full transparency regarding teacher compensation. Total annual earnings for this position combine a competitive base salary, dedicated specialized stipends, and local voter-approved referendum funding:
  • Standard Base Salary: $46,879.00 – $51,402.00 (Based on verified years of full-time teaching experience)
  • ESE Hard-to-Staff Retention Bonus: $5,000.00 annually
  • ESE Endorsement Supplement: $2,500.00 annually (For holding valid ESE Endorsement)
  • Master’s Degree Supplement: Additional $2,500.00 annually (Conferred degree in a directly related field)
  • Broward County Referendum Pay: $500.00 – $12,000.00 annually (Paid bi-weekly on regular payroll)

Position overview

We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled ESE Teacher for the 2026–2027 School Year. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing and delivering specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate closely with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure all Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are implemented with fidelity and that every student reaches their full academic and personal potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • IEP Management & Compliance

  • Develop, write, and implement compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including measurable annual goals, accommodations, and progress reports.
  • Instructional
  • Delivery: Provide direct, specially designed instruction in individual, small-group, and push-in/pull-out settings aligned with state standards.
  • Progress
  • Monitoring: Track, collect, and analyze student academic and behavioral data to evaluate progress toward IEP goals and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaboration &
  • Inclusion: Partner with general education teachers, therapists, and administration to facilitate effective accommodations and modifications in inclusive settings.
  • Parent
  • Communication: Facilitate annual IEP meetings, re-evaluations, and maintain ongoing, collaborative relationships with parents and guardians.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field preferred).
  • Certification: Valid Florida Educator Certificate or Temporary Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) K–12.
  • Endorsements: ESE Endorsement preferred (eligible for applicable stipend upon verification).
  • Clearance: Successful completion of a Florida Level 2 background screening.
  • Skills: Knowledge of Florida ESE compliance guidelines, IEP drafting software, and positive behavior intervention strategies.
