  • Range: $2,500.00 - $2,500.00 CommissionPOSITION SUMMARY The Athletic Coach supports Denver Christian School’s mission by leading student-athletes in a Christ-centered athletic program that promotes spiritual growth, character development, teamwork, and athletic excellence. This role is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and discipling student-athletes while managing team operations and representing Denver Christian School with integrity and professionalism. Coaches play a key role in shaping student experiences by modeling faith, sportsmanship, and a commitment to “To God Be the Glory” in all aspects of competition. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Spiritual Leadership & Student Development Models a clear and consistent Christian faith and integrates biblical principles into coaching, competition, and team culture. Disciples student-athletes through teaching, mentorship, and daily interactions grounded in a biblical worldview. Encourages physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth of student-athletes, recognizing each as a unique creation of God. Teaches athletes to demonstrate sportsmanship, integrity, respect, and perseverance in both victory and adversity. Coaching & Athletic Excellence Plans and leads effective practices that develop skill, teamwork, discipline, and competitive readiness. Demonstrates strong knowledge of the sport and applies best practices in coaching, training, and player development. Prepares teams to compete with excellence while rejecting a “win at all costs” mindset. Attends and supervises all scheduled practices, games, competitions, and team events. Team Operations & Logistics Coordinates team calendars, schedules, competitions, and required registrations. Assists with uniform, warm-up, camp, and practice apparel coordination. Supports competition logistics, including releases, schedules, and event details. Collaborates with the Athletic Director and Head Coach on program needs and season planning. Communication & Engagement Drafts weekly team communications for Head Coach distribution, including schedules, updates, and reminders. Partners with families, students, and school staff to ensure clear and consistent communication. Manages or supports team social media content in alignment with school guidelines and branding. Community & Culture Building Coordinates team-building and team-bonding activities, including themed practices and special traditions (e.g., Bigs/Littles). Organizes school spirit initiatives such as decorations, banners, and game-day elements. Identifies and coordinates opportunities for teams to serve, support, or represent the school at events and in the community. Recruits, coordinates, and supports volunteers as needed for team activities and events. QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Clear profession of faith in Jesus Christ and a discipling approach to coaching and athletics. Alignment with Denver Christian School’s athletic philosophy and mission. Demonstrated knowledge of the sport through playing and/or coaching experience. Ability to model Christ-like character, professionalism, and leadership to students and families. Ability to meet all employment requirements outlined in the Denver Christian School Employee Handbook. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior coaching experience; varsity-level coaching experience preferred for varsity positions. Experience mentoring or discipling students in a faith-based educational or athletic setting. Ability to demonstrate athletic skills and drills as required by the sport. Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed.

Requires a clear profession of faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrated knowledge of cheerleading through playing or coaching experience. Must be able to model Christ-like character and meet school employment requirements.
