About the role

Support BUILD program students in completing assignments, staying motivated, and managing elective classes. Responsibilities include hosting weekly study groups or check-in meetings and tracking student progress via daily reports.

Description

  • Support student(s) in BUILD working to complete assignments or expectations. Help student(s) stay focused and motivated and assist as needed. Listen, recognize positive strides and remind students of the progress they are making. Help correct behaviors and processes that are not working well, and help establish new approaches to issues when the original plan is not working effectively.

  • Academic mentors have the following responsibilities:
  • Support students in the BUILD program to manage their elective classes and consult with course professor as needed to identify needed supports.
  • Host a weekly study group for each elective class to support students in satisfactorily accessing and

progressing through elective course content and course requirements. Mentors working outside of the classroom will host a weekly check in meeting with the student(s).

Complete daily google form to track attendance and progress.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Hours: 4-7 hours/week

Start Date: August 31, 2026

End Date: May 18, 2027

Pay Rate

$14.25/hour
