About the role

The official is responsible for officiating conference and exhibition games, including recording statistics and managing game sheets. Additionally, they handle the setup and takedown of event equipment and operate the PA and music systems.

Athletics & Recreation - Varsity

Position Summary

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the varsity sport official may perform some or all of the listed general administration functions. These functions are of moderate complexity and the sport official performs them using established instructions. Sport Officials will be responsible to work both conference and exhibition games as well as any tournaments and playoffs. Primary Responsibilities Expected to setup and take down of event equipment Officiate game Record game statistics & game sheets. Operate video, Public Address (PA) system and music system during game play Distribute and track computer equipment. Maintain a log to keep track these items may be required

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities Sport specific knowledge is required (basketball, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, football, hockey, and volleyball). Must be able to work evenings (Wed-Sat) and weekends (Sat-Sun) Must be punctual, organized, reliable and have the ability to multitask Previous experience is an asset Bilingualism is an asset Strong computer skills are an asset for some positions (statistics)

Knowledge of English

Minimum Education and Experience: High School Diploma 1 Year Related Experience Hourly Salary: (AMUSE B) $16.85 Estimated Number of Work Hours per Week: 8 (Part time) Position Start Date: 2026-08-11 Position End Date: 2027-03-31 Deadline to Apply: 2026-08-06 This position is covered by the AMUSE collective agreement.
