Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Interpret assessment results and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement appropriate interventions and support plans. Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and social skills deficits. Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create and implement programs and interventions to promote positive behavior support, social-emotional learning, and mental health awareness. Participate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs), providing support and guidance to school teams. Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with challenging behaviors. Serve as a resource to school staff, providing consultation, training, and support on topics related to psychological assessment, intervention, and behavior management. Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessment results, counseling sessions, progress reports, and other relevant information.

Qualifications

Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field. Valid state licensure or certification as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). Previous experience working as an LSSP in a school or educational setting. Knowledge of assessment tools, psychoeducational testing, and intervention strategies relevant to children and adolescents. Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, school staff, and external agencies. Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.

Additionally, the employee must have the physical stamina to supervise and engage with students throughout the school day.
