  • Range: $20.00 - $20.00 HourlySeeking an energetic, compassionate, collaborative ELC Assistant Teacher who will work with the Lead teacher and with children in age ranges from 18 months to 5 years. All responsibilities are to be in line with the Catholic mission of the Parish and school. To nurture children's social, spiritual, & academic development while fostering a Catholic environment of mutual respect and appreciation. Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development. Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs. Assist children with activities of daily life (eg diapering/restroom use, cleaning up, dressing). Be warm and nurturing with the children as well as being a positive role model for all care giving staff and children. Maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children. Communicate with the Lead Teacher regarding all aspects of the children's care as well as classroom management. The ELC Assistant reports directly to the Lead Teacher and works collaboratively with the Supervisor, Director, Principal, and Pastor. QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent, ECE Initial Certificate (or working towards), ECE Short Certificate a plus, Early Childhood Experience, two professional references, and understanding of developmentally appropriate practices. Ability to perform the job responsibilities of this position. Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children. Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences. Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities. Be able to kneel, ben, squat, lift, push, pull, carry children up to 50 lbs. Have dependable transportation. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and an ECE Initial Certificate or progress toward one. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and possess a strong work ethic.
