About the role

The coach is responsible for planning and conducting daily dance practices and leading the team during competitions. They must ensure student safety, monitor academic progress, and maintain equipment and uniforms.

ATHLETIC COACH The athletic coach instructs athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes self-discipline, character development, and school pride.

They report directly to the Athletic Director and ensure all activities comply with district, state, and conference regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Practice & Game Management: Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices and lead the team during competitions, including weekend tournaments.

Skill Development: Teach fundamental and advanced skills, strategies, and proper conditioning to optimize performance.

Safety & Supervision: Ensure the safety of student-athletes by supervising them at all times, including practices, games, locker rooms, and on travel.

Academic & Behavioral Monitoring: Monitor the academic progress and conduct of student-athletes, emphasizing that "student" comes before "athlete".

Communication

Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, administration, and the media regarding schedules and expectations.

Equipment &

Logistics: Maintain an inventory of uniforms and equipment, and assist with facility preparation.

Mentorship

Act as a positive role model, fostering good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.

Requirements

The candidate must be able to teach fundamental and advanced dance skills and strategies while fostering an inclusive environment. They are required to comply with district, state, and conference regulations.
