About the role

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to support children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development across various classrooms. Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment while collaborating with other educators and families.

The Teacher Float position is a part-time position requiring a Monday through Friday schedule.

Floaters move between classrooms (e.g., preschool or toddler rooms) but otherwise hold the same qualifications and responsibilities as our standard Teacher role.

The opening is at the State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA.

Your Role Will Include: Create & Implement: Develop engaging lesson plans that support children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development, across whichever classroom you're covering.

Nurture & Support: Foster strong relationships with children and families, keeping them informed of their progress.

Ensure Safety & Inclusion: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment where every child feels valued.

Collaborate & Grow: Work with each classroom's team of educators to maintain a positive, cohesive atmosphere.

Meet High Standards: Maintain compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC best practices, and quality standards.

Qualifications

Must hold EEC Teacher certification through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Knowledge of EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC best practices. Must be at least 18 years old. Strong classroom management skills and ability to work collaboratively. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development. Salary and Schedule: $15.00 per hour. Sick time accrual: 1 hour per 30 hours worked. Complimentary individual YMCA membership. Discount on childcare programs.

Location

State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA.

PT within the hours of 7:30

AM-6:00 PM and open to flexible scheduling; Monday-Friday.

Requirements

Must hold an EEC Teacher certification from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and be at least 18 years old. Requires knowledge of EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC best practices.
