Ensure the safety and supervision of all participants during programs. Provide a safe environment for participants, volunteers, and staff. Be attentive and ready to assist sports staff and participants. Assist with supervision to ensure all participants remain in designated areas. Create a friendly, motivating, and noncompetitive atmosphere. Introduce yourself and build relationships with participants/members. Arrive on time and in compliance with the YMCA dress code. Assist with setup and take‑down of equipment/sports sites as needed. Perform other duties/assignments as needed at the YMCA. QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be a minimum of 15 years of age and supervised by staff 18+ years of age in the room. No previous experience required. Ability to communicate effectively with sports coaches, staff and parents of youth sports participants. Must have organizational and human relations skills in order to provide adequate support to sports programs. Must possess/acquire knowledge of all aspects of the particular sports league. Basic knowledge of the phases of physical education for all age groups served. Visually inspect participation space and equipment for safety. Completion of all position-specific and required YMCA training within established deadlines.
Candidates must be at least 15 years old and possess strong communication and organizational skills. No previous experience is required, but knowledge of sports leagues and physical education basics is necessary.
