Job Description

At the Blue Peak Center for ABA at Mount St. Mary’s University, we are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with autism through evidence-based treatment methodologies. Our brand-new center will feature both one-on-one and group settings under the careful guidance of highly qualified supervisors. Our team is passionate about making a positive impact and providing compassionate, high-quality care. In addition to the support we provide our clients, we aim to provide a unique experience for those working within the center with a strong focus on training, mentorship, and clinician wellbeing.

If you are enthusiastic, compassionate, and are looking to make a difference for children with autism, we invite you to apply for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position.

RBTs provide direct therapy, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), to develop a child’s communication, social-emotional, and adaptive daily living skills.

RBTs will engage in structured teaching sessions, collect data, and collaborate with the BCBA to identify the best course of treatment for the clients they work with.

This position is fulltime and will work out of the Blue Peak Center for Applied Behavior Analysis at Mount St.

Mary’s University.

The Center is located in Emmitsburg, MD.

Responsibilities

Acquire and maintain RBT certification Implement written treatment plans as developed by the BCBA Build and maintain positive relationships with clients Work in 1:1 or small group settings with clients Collect data related to client goals to inform treatment decisions Submit regular written reports of client progress Collaborate with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and stakeholders effectively and professionally

Qualifications

Must have at least a high school diploma and be at least 18-years-old. Some higher education in psychology, education, human services, or related field preferred, but not required. Experience working with children Experience with individuals with development disabilities and/or behavior challenges preferred Effective oral and written communication skills Reliable transportation to and from our Emmitsburg center Pass a criminal background check from state and federal registries Active RBT certification preferred or ability to obtain RBT certification within 45-60 days of hire. Must demonstrate the ability to work with tight deadlines while maintaining productivity and quality of work. Physical Agility: The candidate must be capable of standing and remaining active for the majority of the workday. Ability to work on feet for extended periods (e.g., 8-hour shifts or longer). The candidate must be able to run or move quickly as needed during the course of the workday, often in response to time-sensitive tasks or emergencies. Lifting Requirements: The candidate must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis. Must practice proper lifting techniques to ensure safety and avoid injury. Schedule Monday – Friday, 8-hour shift. Hours of operation: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Staff hours will be either 7:30 – 4:00 PM or 8:00 – 4:30 PM consistent daily and communicated in advance. Work Location At our center in Emmitsburg, MD. 2 miles from Mount St. Mary’s University towards downtown Emmitsburg. At least 3 professional references must be provided with application. Full Time/Part Time: Full time

Candidates must have a high school diploma, be at least 18 years old, and possess or be able to obtain RBT certification within 60 days. Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs is required.
