About the role

Perform a broad range of clerical and secretarial duties, including managing confidential information and responding to departmental inquiries. Responsibilities include composing correspondence, monitoring budgets, and supervising student or casual employees.

Position Summary

Arts & Science is seeking a talented Administrative Aide II to join the Department of History. This individual will perform a broad range of clerical, secretarial, and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the undergraduate/graduate departmental offerings and policies. Assist with the prioritization of office activities and delegate to and monitor work of student and/or casual employees. Compose letters and correspondence. Perform general word processing, spreadsheet and data entry duties utilizing intermediate-level functions. Monitor moderately complex budgets and/or grants.

Qualifications

Required Education:High School Diploma or equivalent or an Associate's degree or some college.Preferred Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:3+ years of office experience (with High School diploma). 2 years of office experience (with Associates degree or some college).Preferred Experience:2+ years of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with intermediate-level word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with intermediate-level Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $39.129. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
