About the role

The Apprentice Teacher assists the Lead Teacher in coordinating and implementing daily preschool activities. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe classroom environment and supervising children.

Job summary

The Apprentice Teacher assists the Teacher to coordinate and implement daily preschool academy activities for the students in his/her classroom.

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining safe and clean classroom environment; Assists in the supervision of children in the classroom; Participates in all classroom and school related activities; Keeps the Lead Teacher informed regarding classroom activities and events; Able to work a flexible schedule; and Provides such other related duties as may be assigned.

  • Educational
  • REQUIREMENT: High school diploma or equivalent.

Years of related work experience

Experience working with young children, e.g., summer camp.

Other related requirements

Within 120 days of hire must enroll in the Hopkins House Early Childhood Learning Institute (ECLI) to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA).
