About the role

The Paraprofessional supports the lead teacher in delivering high-quality early childhood education by facilitating play-based learning and guiding social-emotional growth. They assist with daily classroom routines, individualized instruction, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for children.

The Paraprofessional supports the delivery of high-quality early childhood education by assisting the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

This role actively supports children’s development across all domains by facilitating play-based learning, guiding social-emotional growth, and assisting with daily classroom routines.

The paraprofessional demonstrates a foundational understanding of child development and Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP), using positive guidance strategies to support behavior and promote inclusion.

This position requires the ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team, communicate effectively with children, staff, and families, and follow instructional direction while also taking initiative when appropriate.

The paraprofessional supports individualized learning by assisting with small group and one-on-one instruction, adapting activities to meet diverse needs, and helping ensure all children have access to inclusive and supportive experiences.

Requirements

Candidates should ideally have a high school diploma, a paraprofessional certification, and a CDA credential or associate degree in ECE. Experience working with young children and those with diverse needs is preferred, along with CPR/First Aid certification.
