The student worker supports the Registrar Department with daily administrative tasks including degree audits, data entry, and filing. Responsibilities also include assisting with transfer evaluations and graduation duties such as organizing diplomas.
The goal of the student worker position for the Office of the Registrar is to aid in the daily tasks of the Registrar Department, which includes degree audits, data gathering and entry, filing, copying and phones/emails as needed. The duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Essential duties and responsibilities
Assists with the preparation of Transfer Evaluations of Incoming Students via live spreadsheets and the use of SLATE.
Picking up and taking mail to mailroom and/or other departments around campus
Handling of student’s digital records for filing purposes
Stuffing envelopes with sensitive correspondence for students
Assisting with Graduation duties such as, but not limited to mailing, organizing, carrying/lifting diplomas, assisting during commencement ceremony, etc.
Data Entry onto Power Campus and SLATE.
Assists in any data gathering or entering and general office duties as needed for Academic Records, which include phones and emails, especially during busier parts of the semester.
Previous office experience preferred but not required.
Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 40 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, type and perform data entry, visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information, ability to hear to answer telephones and to communicate verbally.
Work is performed primarily indoors with minimal safety hazards and requires primarily seated work.
Candidates should possess strong organizational and communication skills and proficiency in MS Office. Previous office experience is preferred, and the ability to handle sensitive information in a fast-paced environment is required.
