About the role

The faculty member will teach upper-level ministry courses with an emphasis on Youth and Family Ministry, alongside general education survey courses in Bible and Ministry. Additionally, the role involves mentoring undergraduate students and participating in departmental, college, and university committee service.

Abilene Christian University is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ.

All qualified applicants for these positions must be professing Christians and be active, faithful members of a congregation of the Churches of Christ and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the university. ‌ The Department of Bible, Missions, and Ministry invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track college faculty position, beginning in January 2027.

The department is seeking someone to teach upper-level ministry courses, with an emphasis on Youth and Family Ministry, and general education survey courses in Bible and/or Ministry.

The role will also include mentoring undergraduate students, maintaining expertise in the field through appropriate professional development, and serving on department, college, and university committees as needed.

The candidate should exhibit excellence as a classroom teacher and be able to relate to a multi-ethnic student body with wide-ranging familiarity with the Bible and the Christian faith.

Applications from qualified women and minorities are especially encouraged.

The successful candidate must have experience in Youth and Family ministry and an MDiv, MACM, or similar degree in religious studies.

Preference will be given to candidates with a terminal degree (e.g., DMin, ThD, EdD, PhD) and experience in multiple types of church ministry.

A scholarly research agenda, evidenced by presentations and publications, will strengthen the application even though it is not required.

Similarly, the ability to teach in Spanish is not required but would support current departmental initiatives.
