What you will do
Develop and implement educational activities and programs in accordance with IEP goals, ensuring educational activates and programs are functional and age appropriate to promote achievement of each student’s IEP goals.
Plan daily and weekly schedules for each student.
Collect and analyze IEP goal data and evaluate any changes to IEP goals needed.
Prepare assessments and present levels of performance for IEP meetings and participate in development of appropriate IEP goals for students.
Train, supervise, and evaluate classroom lead teacher aide and education specialists.
Maintain current classroom information book, student program books, lesson plans, student’s files, and emergency packets.
Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding students' educational progress, programs, and activities.
Model appropriate behavior to students and staff (manner of speech, appropriate dress, etc.); treat students with dignity and respect.
What you will bring
Valid Illinois teaching license.
Valid LBS 1 certification (or meet all requirements for short term emergency approval for LBS 1 certification).
Valid Illinois driver’s license.
Ability to meet all licensing standards of the Department of Human Services and the Department of Child and Family Services.
What we prefer
3+ years experience as a Special Education Classroom Teacher.
Previous supervisory experience.
Good interpersonal skills.
