The Preschool Teacher Assistant supports the classroom teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role involves assisting students in building foundational academic skills as well as fostering their social and emotional growth. Under the direction of the lead teacher and instructional team, the assistant contributes to the overall success of the classroom by helping implement daily activities, supporting individual student needs, and promoting a positive, inclusive classroom culture.
The teacher assistant reports to the principal and is supervised by the principal. Other key relationships include the assistant principal, grade level team, and his/her assigned teacher.
The teacher assistant must possess the ability to work tactfully and effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.
He/she must display evidence of an educational philosophy in agreement with that of Holy Family Catholic Academy.
He/she must display an ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
Physical Demands and Environment While performing this job, employees will be required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods. Use of technical equipment such as laptop computers, overhead projectors, and whiteboards. They are also required to walk up and down stairs. Some heavy lifting up to 30 pounds may be required.

This position has an hourly range of $15.50 - $16.50. An employee’s pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
Candidates must have at least a high school degree, with a bachelor's degree preferred. Applicants should possess the ability to teach grade-level curriculum and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with staff and parents.
