Position Title

Exam Proctor Job Category: Student Hourly Job Profile: Student Help Job Summary: The Exam Proctor is responsible for assisting in the administration and coordination of testing procedures, processes and schedules, and for collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure exams are available to students with disabilities. The proctor reports directly to the Director of Student Accessibility Services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identification of major areas of responsibilities and percentages devoted to each.

45% A.

Administer Exams Proctor exams, quizzes, in a variety of formats from UWP faculty and instructional academic staff.

Maintain quiet atmosphere for testing in the approved testing area in the library.

Greet students and assist with check in and exam scheduling, ensures proper completion of forms and identification checks for all examinees.

Performs other duties as assigned.

40% B. Administer Exam Schedules Inventory exams and provide instructions as noted by faculty and instructors. Return testing materials to the appropriate instructors or faculty members on an ongoing basis. Document on exam log amount of time student began and stopped testing.

10% C. Confirm Security of testing materials and report any security violations. Maintain exams in secure area. Monitor students to ensure integrity of the exam and no violations occur. If violation occurs, collect testing materials and report to Lead Exam Coordinator.

5% D. Perform Other Duties as Assigned Assist Student Accessibility Services Program Associate with basic office tasks (e.g. filing, printing, faxing, etc)

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE Soundness of judgment and operational decisions.

Ability to organize and prioritize work while being responsive to University personnel.

Timely and effective communication of problems and opportunities.

This includes the responsibility for identifying and communicating information of importance as soon as possible.

Integrity in dealing with customers, students, vendors, employees, and management.

Punctuality, attendance, effective use of time, and willingness to work overtime when necessary.

Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

Willingness to assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications Knowledge of test administration techniques, security practices, and procedures Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques Skill in communicating effectively, clearly presenting ideas and concepts orally and in writing Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and relate to others in a professional, helpful manner Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail Ability to work independently and to use judgment and decision-making processes to take appropriate action Ability to maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive information PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential functions of this positions require visual and auditory observation, lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate. Light Work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force, frequently lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds requires a good deal of walking, sitting and standing. Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, ability to understand and provide verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem-solving skills are important.
