About the role

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will supervise practice and game preparation, provide competition coverage, and design rehabilitation programs for student athletes. They are also responsible for documenting injuries, maintaining training room operations, and providing instruction to athletic training students.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $49,743 Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited college or university Required Qualifications: Current NATA BOC Certification Current Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certification Eligible for AT licensure in the State of Idaho

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Proficient in modalities, taping, bracing, and wound care. Communication skills with co-workers, student athletes, coaches, and other healthcare providers. Manual therapy experience and proficiency. First responder capabilities. Proficient in rehabilitation progressions. Ability to teach student AT's as a preceptor. Experience in collegiate athletics.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supervise practice and game preparation, competition coverage, design and implement rehabilitation programs, ensuring that all activities are conducted appropriately. Document injuries and rehabilitation for use in preparing and presenting reports and in evaluating recovery of injured athletes. Follow protocols to ensure prompt and appropriate responses when injuries occur. Provide teaching and direction to undergraduate and graduate athletic training students. Prepare reports and serve as a liaison for injured athletes with the team physician and other healthcare providers. Assist in the day-to-day operation of the athletic training room. Monitor the use of equipment and facilities to ensure their proper use and athlete compliance with stated rules. Order or report needed repairs as needed and appropriate to ensure the training facility is fully operational and available for use. Complete training to become a P-card manager. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field and possess current NATA BOC, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. Eligibility for Idaho AT licensure is required, with preference given to those holding a Master's degree and experience in collegiate athletics.
