This opportunity is within an inclusive special education classroom, ensuring each child gets the attention they deserve.

Provide guidance that reinforces the instruction of Special Education Teacher. Assist in the planning or instructing of activities under the supervions of the instruction. Provide high quality care and instruction to all students through fun age and developmentally appropriate activities. Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Actively participate in team meetings, sharing educational insights and problem-solving collaboratively. Maintain open communication with families, keeping them informed and supported. Collaborate with the team to utilize diverse techniques and perspectives in program design. Keep accurate records of children’s progress and attendance, and prepare reports for parent conferences. Attend required training sessions, ensuring compliance with OCFS regulations and program requirements. And other duties as assigned. Bring your creativity, energy, and passion!
Education (one of the following): NYS Teaching Assistant Certification if not you can take 3- months to attain your certification. High school diploma or GED. Physical Capability Ability to physically assist children to participate in the program; ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds; ability to engage in repetitive movements such as sitting/kneeling on floor, bending and stooping; ability to move quickly to attend to a running child.
