Teaching Responsibilities Assist preschool teacher in supervising and implementing the program for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Diocese of San Diego Respecting and honoring the needs of the individual children with concern for their interests, special needs, talents, and individual style and pace of learning Considering individual children in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background. Treating children with dignity and respect Helping children to become aware of their roles as integral member of a group Assist preschool teacher in the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor and learning environment of the classroom Assuming an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff after the children have either departed or are under the supervision of another teacher Participating in recommended training programs, conferences, courses and other aspects of professional growth Assisting in the ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the development levels of the children Other duties as assigned Participating in public relations events sponsored by the school but not limited to; shall include Back to School Night, Christmas program, Grandparents Day concert, Open House, Moving Up Ceremony, and school fundraisers Administrative/ Other Responsibilities Return voice-mail/e-mail messages in a timely manner, within 24 hours weekdays Communicate regularly with parents, posting weekly on Class Dojo with classroom updates Submit assessment data and complete tasks assigned by principal in a timely manner Maintain a neat and orderly classroom Demonstrate a respectful demeanor with staff, students, and parents Observe utmost confidentiality regarding parent, student, staff information/conversations Participate in appropriate professional activities to support leadership and instructional roles Supervise playground and other areas of duty as the role may require Other duties as assigned
