About the role

The School Psychologist conducts psycho-educational evaluations and provides counseling services to students. They also collaborate with staff and parents to develop individualized learning and behavioral plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual psycho‑educational evaluations (academic, behavioral, social‑emotional).
  • Provide counseling (individual and group) for students, including those with disabilities.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop individualized learning or behavioral plans.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and assist in identification/placement of students with special needs.
  • Recommend classroom management strategies and positive behavior interventions.
  • Provide screening programs and referrals to outside service agencies when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for staff, parents, and agencies.

Qualifications

Education

Master’s degree in School Psychology or Educational Psychology.

Licensure

Valid Ohio Department of Education certification/licensure in School Psychology. Skills Required:

Strong communication (oral and written). Active listening and counseling skills. Knowledge of evaluation procedures for academic/behavioral problems. Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and parents. Proficiency with district software and office equipment.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in School or Educational Psychology. A valid Ohio Department of Education certification or licensure in School Psychology is required.
