About the role

The Swim Instructor is responsible for teaching swimming lessons to various age groups while maintaining a safe and positive environment. They must also evaluate student progress, maintain accurate records, and enforce facility policies.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

We're seeking a Swim Instructor to join our team! As our new Swim Instructor you will: Teach various levels and age groups in accordance with the sites instructional guidelines Plan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate the student’s progress Present proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devices Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment Attend all in-service trainings Maintain accurate records and prepare course completion certificates Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught in all levels Effectively communicate each student’s progress either to the student directly, or to the student’s parents where appropriate Project and promote a professional image Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons preferred but not required Please note *Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $15.00/hour to $20.00/hour. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs. Exos offers a comprehensive benefits package for all full time employees (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements), which includes health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Additionally, Exos offers a variety of part time benefits (subject to eligibility requirements).

Candidates must be at least 16 years old and hold current CPR/AED, First Aid, and Red Cross Lifeguarding certifications. Prior experience in lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons is preferred but not required.
