Position Overview

The Assistant Sports Performance Coach position is an integral part of our elite high-performance team where we offer holistic and high-quality care to our student-athletes. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships with student athletes, sport coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, academic advisors, and administrators with the overarching goal of preparing student athletes for sport and holistic development.

Responsibilities

  • This position allocates a large portion of their time to assessing student athletes, analyzing demands of the sport(s), then designing and administering scientifically-sound sports performance programming to the teams they are responsible for.
  • An ongoing goal is to ensure the appropriate amount of stress is applied to the athletes at the correct time in relation to competition.
  • A primary aspect of this are athlete monitoring efforts including daily wellness questionnaires, force plate testing, and performance assessments.
  • It is then the responsibility of this position to discern all information and successfully communicate pertinent information to other stakeholders (sport coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, etc.).
  • Lastly, the field of sports performance is ever evolving, and it is the duty of this position to continually strive to perfect their craft by learning new techniques, modalities, and concepts and bring new concepts to the unit.
  • Other duties include assisting with facility upkeep, collaborating with sports performance staff regarding the sports performance internship program and assisting with the refueling station.

Required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field
  • One year of working with collegiate athletes
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association OR Certified Strenght & Conditioning Coach certified from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association
  • CPR/AED Certified

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • 1+ years working with collegiate athletes at the Division-1 level

Salary

$55,000 to $62,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Requirements
