Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team at E-Therapy. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, collaborating with school staff and families to ensure academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and educational best practices. Utilize and integrate assistive technology, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM systems, into instruction to support students' learning. Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to create an inclusive educational environment. Provide support and training to school staff and families on effective communication strategies and accommodations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths, needs, and progress, and participate in IEP meetings to develop and review educational goals. Stay informed about advancements in assistive technology and educational methodologies for students with hearing impairments. Advocate for students' needs and ensure adherence to federal, state, and district policies related to special education.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other forms of manual communication. Strong knowledge of assistive technology and auditory-visual teaching strategies. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience in telepractice or online instruction. Experience working with students with additional disabilities or needs. Additionally, the employee must have the physical stamina to supervise and engage with students throughout the school day.
