Who You Are: Tri County Tech is seeking an Adjunct Practical Nursing Clinical Instructor to supervise and guide adult students during clinical experiences in hospitals, long-term care facilities, physician offices, hospice, and home health agencies throughout Northeast Oklahoma. Instructional schedule: Monday–Friday, 5–10 hours per week. What You'll Possess As a qualified candidate: You’ll possess a Registered Nurse (non-encumbered) license in the state of Oklahoma. You’ll possess a minimum of two years of related work experience within the last five years. You’ll be CPR certified. You’ll have familiarity with current nursing practices and procedures. You’ll have familiarity with pedagogy and the training and development of others. You are detail-oriented and organized. You'll strive to exceed expectations and have excellent communication skills. You'll take the initiative, seek out projects, and openly accept other duties as assigned. You continually look for ways to improve your skill set and are always open to receiving feedback. What You'll Do Instructors plan and deliver high-level, rigorous instruction to students in a trade area. They are technical experts in a given field/ area of specialty with the ability to teach leadership and employability skills. They understand the concept of andragogy and pedagogy and the learner's motivation while displaying patience and enthusiasm to help their students meet their goals. Instructors are lifelong learners who can adapt easily to meet the needs of their students. They manage multiple projects with self-directed deadline-driven accountability. They are highly functioning professionals, applying the use of discretion and independent judgment while maintaining ultimate accountability. Essential Functions: Facilitate clinical learning experiences that effectively use available clinical time and provide students with opportunities to apply nursing knowledge, develop clinical judgment, and demonstrate safe patient-care skills. Establish and maintain clear expectations for student attendance, preparation, professionalism, conduct, confidentiality, and safe clinical practice. Supervise and evaluate student performance in the clinical setting, maintain accurate records, provide timely feedback, and complete required documentation regarding student progress and competency attainment. Identify students who require additional support or remediation and collaborate with program faculty and appropriate staff to address academic, clinical, behavioral, attendance, or professionalism concerns. Ensure students follow clinical-site policies, infection-control procedures, patient-safety practices, documentation requirements, and applicable legal and ethical standards. Communicate and collaborate professionally with students, program faculty, clinical-site personnel, patients, and other members of the healthcare team. Other Job-Related Duties as Assigned by the Supervisor: The omission of duties does not exclude it from the position if similar, related, or a logical assignment to the job. In other words, you'll be helping out on spontaneous projects and opportunities not listed above. Terms of Employment: Adjunct M-F, approximately 5-15 hours per week.

Evaluation

Performance evaluated by the Instructional Director per Board policy.

Salary

$30.00 per hour

Requirements

Candidates must possess a non-encumbered Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma and at least two years of related work experience within the last five years. Current CPR certification and familiarity with nursing practices and pedagogy are also required.
