The Behavioral Intervention Specialist provides trauma-informed behavioral support to K-12 students through data collection, functional behavior assessments, and individualized intervention planning. They also coach educators on restorative practices and collaborate with families and support teams to foster positive student coping skills.
Experience in a public school setting Minimum 3 years of school-based or behavioral intervention experience. Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and positive behavioral supports. Effective leadership and interpersonal communication skills. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes: Basic knowledge of Google and other database programs Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to: computers, telephone systems, calculators, and copiers Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills Flexibility, reliability, and self-motivation Ability to demonstrate professionalism, interpersonal skills, and strong communication Strong leadership skills Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands The demands described are representative of those that must be met by an individual to perform the essential functions of this position successfully. Tasks may involve walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting for long periods of time both indoors and outdoors. Ability to lift at least 20 pounds. Must pass all criminal history and child maltreatment background checks. Must submit to pre-employment a drug screen as well as random drug screens when directed. Valid driver's license, proof of personal automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record required to drive shelter vehicles for shelter business. Must maintain confidentiality and privacy regarding all Children’s information in accordance with Everhope policy and all applicable Federal and state laws/regulations. Attend and participate in mandatory training, staff meetings, and all other events, as required. Set, maintain, and communicate appropriate personal and professional boundaries. Complete all required documentation in a timely manner per Everhope procedures.
