Freire Charter High School (9–12): 2027 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19103 What you’ll do As a member of Freire’s instructional team, you will implement high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum to drive rigorous instruction and high achievement, while remaining open to feedback and instructional coaching.
You will also foster a safe, affirming environment where students feel confident taking risks and practicing Spanish authentically.
Foster a classroom environment grounded in critical thinking, academic rigor, mutual respect, and high expectations for all students. Implement high-quality, content-specific curriculum and design instructional materials that promote deep thinking and problem-solving. Maintain consistent, proactive communication with families regarding student progress and relevant school updates. Engage fully in professional development and collaborate closely with colleagues to best support student learning and growth. Teachers hired at Freire Charter High School (20th & Chestnut St.) have the opportunity to be CREW Leaders and will co-lead a class focusing on SEL and community building twice a week.
