About the role

The adjunct instructor will teach courses within the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction to diverse student populations in areas such as orthopedics, neurology, and acute care.

General Summary of Position

The Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is searching for part-time adjunct instructors to teach in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Teaching opportunities are available beginning in Fall 2025 semester. We seek candidates with expertise in orthopedic/musculoskeletal, neurological, pediatric, geriatric, acute care, and/or cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred
  • Physical Therapy License in Massachusetts (Current)
  • The ability to work effectively with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations

Additional Considerations

  • Candidates with qualifications to teach in more than one area will be given priority
  • Candidates with a DPT or higher degree will be given priority
  • Previous teaching experience at the university/college level is desirable
  • Previous clinical education supervision is desirable

This is a part-time, non-benefited, Union of Adjunct Faculty, Local 1596, UAW position.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Physical Therapy and a current Massachusetts Physical Therapy license. A Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and previous university-level teaching or clinical supervision experience are preferred.
