Compensation: Starting at $21 hourly Location: Ventura, CA Starting Date: Seasonal Position (This position is seasonal and follows the school district calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.) Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, between 2:25 PM - 6:00 PM PST & Wednesday between 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM PST Exact start and end times may vary slightly depending on site needs; flexibility to start earlier or later is required.

Job Description

Apollo After School offers after-school care and enrichment clubs at local schools. We seek outgoing, personable, and reliable teachers for our school-based programs in the area. No degree? No problem! While a degree in education is highly valued, applicants with relevant experience or a related degree may be considered. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, patient, and caring individuals who are flexible, responsible, and who have a real, genuine passion for working with children and making a positive impact on their lives. As an Apollo Teacher, your responsibilities will be: Provide a high-quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school day; Assist in the implementation of classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans when needed; Ensure the safety and security of children enrolled; Follow designated schedule and curriculum, maintain a routine for students; Effectively attract and retain students through enthusiasm, teaching skills, and patience; Assist with homework completion; The requirements for our teachers are: Ability to command respect and cooperation in an elementary classroom. Confidence to run a classroom alone. Applicants must be 18+ and have a high school diploma or equivalent. A team player who can collaborate with peers. Ability to assess and solve problems associated with elementary-aged children. Ability to create and maintain a fun, caring, and responsive educational environment. Minimum of one year working with school-age youth, ages 4-10 in a school/after-school setting.

Requirements
