The Role Under the general direction of the Site Director, the Childcare Specialist role provides onsite child care for resident children following the prescribed curriculum. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.
What You Will Do Conduct daily activities as per the prescribed curriculum. Organize and participates in recreational activities. Instruct children in health and personal activities. Observe and monitors children’s play activities. Organize and stores toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas Support and encourages children’s emotional and social development. Read to children, and teaches them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs. Serve beverages and snacks to children and regulates rest periods Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and brings them to parents’ or guardians’ attention.
Who You Will Be Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the provision of child care services or preschool setting Current CPR and First Aid Certificates Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate children’s activities. Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, children, parents, etc. Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. #li-onsite
