Employee Assistance Program & Retirement Plan General Function The Group Ex Instructor (Les Mills) will be responsible for instructing group training classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all skill and fitness levels. Education/Experience/Training/Certifications Required certifications: Area of Expertise, CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACSM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, NASM, NESTA, NETA, NPTI, NSCA) in personal training
LesMills Certification - LES MILLS TONE offers a blend of cardio, strength and core exercises to appeal to a broad audience. The choreography offers plenty of modifications, meaning participants can tailor the workout to suit their needs. 1 year of experience teaching group wellness classes is preferred, not required
Proven knowledge of exercise science, movement coaching, and movement competency
Completion of YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire
Duties & Responsibilities: Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed, to accomplish YMCA mission and goals
Asks and answers questions within their scope of knowledge from participants and members
Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members
Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants’ capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture
