About the role

The school nurse will provide health assessments, counseling, and emergency nursing services to students while maintaining accurate health records. They are responsible for developing student health plans and performing screenings for vision, hearing, and growth deficiencies.

Our Part-Time Substitute School Nurses impact students’ lives by

Responding with urgency to student health and hygiene needs Obtaining students’ health history; providing health assessments and ongoing counseling with students, parents, school personnel, or health agencies Screening and evaluating deficiencies in vision, hearing, and growth Maintaining, evaluating, and interpreting health data to accommodate individual student needs Developing and implementing student health plans Developing systems and procedures to provide emergency nursing services for injuries and illnesses

Requirements

Candidates must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Louisiana with an unrestricted license. Applicants are also required to hold a CPR certification and possess experience in school, community, public, or pediatric nursing.
