ABOUT US

Founded in 2007, the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools [https://partnershipla.org/] is a nonprofit serving 12,200 students across 20 LAUSD schools. As one of the nation’s largest in-district public school transformation organizations, we operate within LAUSD. We are not a charter network, and our schools and teachers are fully part of LAUSD. Partnership teachers receive the same competitive salary, benefits, and UTLA membership as all LAUSD educators, plus additional earning opportunities.

As a Partnership teacher, you will inspire students, collaborate with peers across our network, and grow professionally. We understand that effective teaching requires support, and we offer the following:

Professional development in Literacy, Math, and Classroom Culture, extending beyond LAUSD’s standard offerings.

Meaningful classroom observations, feedback, and mentorship from teacher leaders and school leaders.

Intentional and sustained focus on advancing outcomes for Black and Multilingual Learners (MLs) or Emerging Bilinguals (EBs) students.

Support family engagement efforts, including strengthening communication and increasing family involvement.

You currently hold or are on track to obtain a California Teaching Credential.

You have a proven track record of driving strong student achievement in underserved schools and communities.

SALARY

Benefits

  • The Partnership offers professional growth opportunities, paid planning time, additional paid roles, and reimbursement for eligible relocation expenses.
  • Free induction program to clear your credentials through LAUSD.
  • District-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for you, your spouse or domestic partner, and dependents (approx. $16,000 value), along with lifetime health benefits for eligible retirees.
  • LAUSD offers up to a 15% salary increase for National Board Certification: 7.5% for the certification and an additional 7.5% after completing 92 hours of professional duties outside the normal duties and hours.

Application steps

STEP 1: Online application

Submit your application online, including a resume. A cover letter is not required.

Note

You only need to submit one application to be considered for all available teaching positions. Please do not submit a new application for each school posting. We will use your one application submission to refer you to schools with vacancies that match your experience and preferences.

STEP 2: Wedge video interview or phone screen

Applicants will receive an email to interview using Wedge and record a solo video interview. In some cases, you may be invited for a phone screen with a member of our Talent Team instead.

STEP 3: School site interview & demo lesson

Successful candidates will be invited to a school-site interview, including a short demo lesson. The process may vary by school but typically involves meeting school leaders and delivering a sample lesson.

STEP 4: Offer & onboarding

Applicants will be notified directly by the school following their interview and demo lesson. If selected, the school will submit an Intent to Hire form to LAUSD's HR team, formally requesting your hire.

Applicants must currently hold or be on track to obtain a California Teaching Credential and must believe in the mission to transform schools and empower all students to achieve at high levels. Candidates should embody a growth mindset and have a proven track record of driving strong student achievement in underserved communities.
