About the role

The faculty member will teach undergraduate nursing courses within the Pre-licensure BSN program. They will also collaborate with nursing faculty to plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing curriculum and related activities.

The Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) Nursing Program has an opening for a full-time Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor faculty position with a start date of August 17, 2026 (classes start August 25, 2026).

This faculty member will primarily teach in the Pre-licensure BSN program.

NWU may be posting a more permanent full-time position in Spring 2027.

The visiting assistant professor would be encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate nursing courses.
  • Work with nursing faculty to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing curriculum, and related activities.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in nursing required; earned doctorate or near completion will be given preference
  • License to practice nursing in the state of Nebraska is required
  • Demonstrated commitment to student academic achievement
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to offer office hours or availability to students outside of scheduled lectures and labs Salary: Competitive wage and comprehensive benefits plan including Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Disability Benefits, Retirement, five weeks of paid time off per year with vacation and holidays, and100% tuition discount for dependents after one year.

Requirements

A master's degree in nursing is required, with preference given to those with an earned doctorate or near completion. Candidates must hold a valid license to practice nursing in the state of Nebraska.
