About the role

The Clinical Coordinator plans, facilitates, and monitors clinical education activities to ensure high-quality student learning experiences. They are responsible for coordinating site placements, conducting site visits, and ensuring the program remains in compliance with educational standards.

The Clinical Coordinator position plans, coordinates, facilitates, administers, and monitors, activities on behalf of the academic program and in coordination with academic and clinical faculty.

These activities ensure the quality of our students learning experience during clinical education.

Clinical Coordinators accomplish this through: Assists with the development and assessment of the clinical education component of the curriculum with the Program Director.

Coordination and implementation of the clinical education component of the curriculum including site placements, site visits, and evaluation.

Responsible for facilitating students' clinical education.

Responsible for ensuring clinical education program compliance.

Education, experience and training

  • Coordinator must: Possess a minimum of an associate degree, graduating from an education program in surgical technology, accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency; and Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA); and Have a minimum of three years of documented experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years; and Possess knowledge of the curriculum; and Possess knowledge about the program's evaluation of student learning and performance

Requirements

Candidates must hold an associate degree in surgical technology and possess a national certification accredited by the NCCA. A minimum of three years of documented experience in an operating room scrub role or as an instructor within the last five years is required.
