The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct evaluations, develop individualized speech-language goals, and provide specially designed instruction to meet student communication needs. They will also collaborate with special education administrators and families to ensure compliance and support student academic success.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the administrator over special education to develop and coordinate daily service schedules, evaluation timelines, and annual IEP meetings
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and progress monitoring discussions
  • Conducting speech and language evaluations and contributing to assessment planning as part of the special education process
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized speech-language goals aligned with each student’s IEP
  • Providing specially designed instruction to meet the unique communication needs of students through a variety of service models.
  • Documenting service delivery, progress notes, and compliance-related paperwork in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines
  • Consulting with teachers and families to support carryover of communication strategies across classroom and home environments
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

NHA provides specially designed instruction developed to meet the unique needs of each child as a result of their disability, and the SLP plays a critical role in supporting student access to instruction and overall academic success.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a master’s degree in speech language pathology - CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associate (ASHA).
  • Experience working with at-risk student populations
  • Experience in a school-based or pediatric environment
  • Familiarity with IEP development, special education compliance, and collaborative service delivery models

$57,680.00 to $65,359.00 will be the pay range and is commensurate with experience, education, and market as defined by NHA. The pay range listed is just one component of NHA's total compensation package. NHA provides excellent benefits for benefit eligible positions; to include medical, dental, vision, prescription, supplemental accident, and critical illness, flexible spending accounts, life insurance and disability, retirement savings (401K), paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and professional development.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a master’s degree in speech language pathology and possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA. Experience in a school-based or pediatric environment and familiarity with IEP development and special education compliance are required.
