Substitute teachers are responsible for implementing lesson plans and maintaining a supportive learning environment for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 4. They also provide supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess periods.
The Ellis School is seeking qualified substitute teachers to provide coverage for planned and unplanned faculty absences in our Lower School (Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 4).
Primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of subjects by implementing the classroom teacher's lesson plans and maintaining a consistent, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Substitute teachers also supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess. The hours for this position are 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and lunch is provided at no cost.
Successful candidates will have enthusiasm for working with young children, prior experience in a school setting, a collaborative approach, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must possess current Pennsylvania clearances, including the PA Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Mandated Reporter Training, and a current TB test.
