The assistant teacher will supervise children in grades K-5 and lead educational activities such as arts, sports, and STEM. They are also responsible for building supportive relationships with students, parents, and school staff while ensuring safety standards are met.
Before and After School Assistant Teachers who have a passion for working with children and their families in a caring, educational setting that is rooted in the mission of the YMCA, a non-profit, charity organization. Possible opportunities available in elementary schools and Y branches in Alliance, Northwest, Canton City, Jackson, North Canton, Lake (Hartville), Louisville, Perry, Plain and Minerva school districts.
Hours/Shift: Monday through Friday 6-9am and/or 2-630PM (exact hours vary by school district)
Pay
Rate: $12.35 /HR *Complimentary Y membership and discounted rates for child care and programs also included. Who Are We Looking For? Individuals who will... Serve as a professional role model for children grades K-5 by leading through example, encouraging healthy and safe behaviors and creating a positive experience while ensuring safety and proper supervision of all. Participate in and lead activities with students that include, but are not limited to, arts and crafts, sports, STEM, character education, and social and emotional skills. Partner and build relationships with parents, school employees, administration and other adults in order to foster a supportive environment for each child. Be a part of an amazing team of staff focused on teaching teamwork and social skills, and supporting children as they grow and learn. Qualifications: At least 18 years old Completed high school or GED program Ability to pass a background check
