About the role

The Youth Leader is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading physical and academic activities for children in grades K-5. They also assist in the implementation of special events and ensure a safe, nurturing environment for all participants.

Pay range

$17.00 - $22.00 Hourly**

Position summary

The Youth Leader plans, organizes, leads, and supervises physical activity and academic curriculum for children in grades K – 5.

Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Requires understanding of child development, group management, group work, program, and communications.
  • Plans and leads age and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in a classroom or group setting, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of special events such as family nights and program activities.
  • Able to complete mandatory training.
  • Must be people-Oriented.

Education/Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Cpr, aed, and first aid certified (Training available upon hire)

All candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening, including criminal and sex offender checks.

The current contract provides programming for the following three school years (2025-2026, 2026-2027, and 2027-2028) with the possibility of extension for an additional two years (2028-2029 and 2029-2030).

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be people-oriented. Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid is required, though training is available upon hire.
