Overview Self-Contained Special Education Teacher | Grades K-1st New Orleans, LA | West Bank Full-Time | W-2 | $45/hour+ HealthPRO Pediatrics is looking for a Special Education Teacher to join our team in the West Bank area of New Orleans, LA! This is a full-time position serving students with exeptionalities that qualify for a separate school setting.
7:40 am - 4 pm (Wednesdays 7:40 am - 5 pm). Weekends, holidays, & summers off!
Pay: W-2 role with hourly rates starting at $45/hr

Consult and collaborate with School staff and families in regards to students’ educational deficits Conduct initial screenings as well as comprehensive evaluations Participate in the IEP process in developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for Special Education services Provide Special Education sessions through the use of current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP Maintain all documentation required by the district including, but not limited to, notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEP’s
Must hold a current license to practice in the state of Louisiana Have successful experience working with culturally diverse families. Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds or more as needed to support safe and effective service delivery. Ability to engage in physical activity, including standing, sitting on the floor, and moving between environments during sessions.
