About the role

The paraprofessional will provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students within special education programs. Responsibilities include implementing IEPs and BIPs while maintaining regular communication with instructors regarding student progress.

As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you’ll work closely with ESS instructors, special education teachers, and general education staff to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support for students. This is a rewarding opportunity to impact student success while working in a collaborative team environment. Wonder Zone would be working with Preschool students, and Kid Zone would be working with Elementary students.

Your Role Will Include

Serving as a contributing member of the ESS and special education team.

Supporting students within the ESS programs and framework. Providing one-to-one or shared support, providing adaptations and accommodations and supporting students in staying on-task.

Providing supports to enhance student success and independence through the implementation of Individual Education Program (IEP) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP).

Providing daily progress to ESS Instructors about student participation and behavior.

Qualifications

  • 18 Years of age, high school diploma required - prefer candidate with Associate of Arts (AA) degree. Additional post - secondary training relevant to children/adolescents/young adults preferred.
  • Flexibility within the work environment. Able to work with small and large groups, one to one, and in multiple school settings.
  • Strong communication skills with students and adults.

Salary and Benefits

  • $19.89 – $24.19 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Personal time, sick time and paid holidays.
  • Benefits are available for employees working 30 hours per week.

Requirements
