About the role

The substitute teacher will support and model the school's mission while managing middle and upper school classrooms. They are responsible for understanding curriculum benchmarks and addressing the developmental and cognitive needs of students.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support and model the spirit of the Mission and Foundation Documents of the Dwight-Englewood School in work with students, faculty, parents and community members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, experience with, the developmental, social, emotional and cognitive issues of the middle and upper school grades.
  • The ability to listen, work with a diverse community and a range of learners, as well as humor and humility, are essential.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A minimum of sixty (60) college credits completed
  • Understanding curriculum expectations and benchmarks, for middle/upper school students
  • Experience with, and a commitment to, diversity and equity work
  • Previous experience working in a middle or upper school setting preferred

Rate of pay

$150 for full day worked and $90 for half day worked.

Requirements
