  • PURPOSE: Develop and Implement learning goals and objectives, in alignment with residential and day services treatment plans. Provide small group instruction to students diagnosed on the Autism spectrum and to ensure understanding and progress in the general curriculum.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of essential duties and responsibilities, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the task to be performed. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein is such duties are a logical assignment to the position. Overseeing the intensive intervention classrooms and will teach in one of the classrooms and help coordinate activities for other intensive intervention teachers. Developing intensive intervention activities in collaboration with lead teacher, school administration, and other members of residential and school teams. Maintaining a new classroom structure of high intensity teacher, lead para, BCBA, and therapies on daily basis. Creating and maintaining a high intensity classroom environment both high intensity physical environment and high intensity social/emotional environment. Developing a specialized high intensity curriculum based on evidence-based best practice. Creating individualized high intensity programs for each high intensity student. Ability to sustain high level of behavioral interventions in collaboration with BCBA team. Coordinating multi-environment learning between residential and school. Responsible as team member to hire and train para-educators. Daily progress monitoring between residential and school for each student. Regular participation in multi-disciplinary team meetings to include the BCBA, home manager and other related service personnel and school administration. Responsible for direct supervision and daily instruction of students with autism and other intellectual disabilities. Provide small group instruction to students diagnosed on the Autism spectrum and/or students with developmental disabilities to ensure understanding and progress in the general education curriculum. Develop weekly lesson plans and implement learning goals and objectives, in alignment with general education curriculum, Little City Center for Education Curriculum and student’s IEP. Develop re-evaluations triennially, IEPs annually, and monitor them quarterly. Monitor student behavior plans annually, IEP goals, and objectives, and other student goals as identified, or more frequently if needed. Prepare quarterly IEP progress reports and report cards. Plan, coordinate, and participate in weekly Community Based Instruction and Cooking Groups. Plan, coordinate, and participate in field trips. Supervision, monitoring, and training paraprofessionals in collaboration with the Little City Center for Education principal and/or designee. Participate in all IEP meetings, team meetings, staff meetings, committee meetings, and other meetings as determined by the Center for Education principal. Maintain weekly communication with student parents and residential case managers. Participate in ongoing professional development to ensure certification/licensure remains current. Develop, monitor, and revise classroom behavior management programs. Administration of formal, informal, benchmarking, classroom, and state assessments. Provide needed accommodations for student learning and testing when required. Build and maintain safe, fair, and respectful learning environments that celebrate the diversity of the student population. Work collaboratively within a team environment. Other Duties as assigned by the Center for Education Principal that would be expected or anticipated of a special education teacher. Maintains American Heart Association certification in First Aid and CPR. Successfully completes Little City required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City policies and practices, or as assigned by his or her immediate supervisor.   • CREDENTIALS: A Bachelors degree in Exceptional/Special Education or a field meeting requirements for an individual to obtain a Professional Educator License with an LBS1 endorsement. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Exceptional/Special Education and possess or be eligible for a Professional Educator License with an LBS1 endorsement. Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or in intensive special education programs is preferred.
