Counselors provide a safe, educational, and biblically-based environment for campers in grades Kindergarten through 6th. They are responsible for supervising children, facilitating age-appropriate activities, and maintaining professional standards at all times.
LM Camp Counselors work to provide good quality play, educational, and biblical provision for all campers’ grades, Kindergarten – 6th at Lake Mead Christian Ministries. Counselors will uphold LMCM’s mission statement, support team members professionally and personally, and work constructively as part of a team. The Coordinator will help train you on the responsibilities and tasks given. A high standard of professional conduct is expected at all times, and Counselors must demonstrate Christ-like judgment and integrity in confidential situations with students, parents, and staff. Counselors work the same contracted hours throughout the week, unless there is a special event where different hours may need to be accommodated. Counselors should also demonstrate a constructive and flexible approach to all aspects of their duties.
Ensures the well-being of campers by providing a safe environment and following all policies and procedures that LMCM has put in place (refer to LM Culture Guide) Ensures that activities are fun and age-appropriate to the different grade levels of campers in our care Ensures campers are being well supervised at all times by not being distracted with personal items: cell phones (only in an emergency), smart watches, personal conversations with team members, parents, or other staff, etc Provides snacks that we have available to campers Provides supplies that we have available to campers Plays and interacts with campers during activities Respects other team members, campers and their parents Achieves tasks given promptly or the deadline provided by the Coordinator Keeps all personal devices put away during your shift (cell phones may be with you for emergency purposes only) Ensures you are equipped with the tools needed during your shift (radio, medical bag, cell phone- as addressed above, work keys, etc.) Keeps all matters that arise confidential Other duties as a supervisor deems necessary
