About Ladybird Montessori School

Ladybird Montessori School is located on 14.5 acres in Buda, TX. We are an American Montessori Society (AMS) accredited school. All of our Lead Guides, in each classroom, are Montessori Certified. Our school is nature based and has numerous playgrounds and we have a farm with chickens, goats, and outdoor classroom spaces!

The Montessori Assistant Guide partners with the Lead Guide to create an authentic Montessori environment where children develop independence, confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. This role supports the prepared environment, uninterrupted work cycles, and daily classroom routines while fostering respectful, nurturing relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

As an integral member of the school community, the Assistant Guide models Montessori principles through professionalism, collaboration, and initiative, contributing to a peaceful, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the growth and well-being of every child.

Essential Responsibilities

Montessori Practice

Support the Lead Guide in implementing authentic Montessori philosophy while encouraging independence, grace and courtesy, and child-led learning.

Prepared

Environment: Help maintain a beautiful, organized, and engaging classroom that promotes exploration, responsibility, and independence.

Student

Support: Observe, guide, and encourage children through daily routines, transitions, and individualized support while fostering confidence and self-discipline.

Collaboration

Work closely with the Lead Guide and school community by sharing observations, supporting classroom operations, and contributing to school initiatives.

Family

Partnerships: Welcome families warmly, maintain professional communication, and support school events while respecting confidentiality.

Health,

Safety, and

Compliance: Maintain active supervision, support daily classroom routines, and ensure compliance with school policies and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Montessori training or a willingness to pursue Montessori training strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a Montessori, early childhood, or educational setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Montessori philosophy or a demonstrated commitment to learning authentic Montessori practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a professional educational team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and the mission and values of the Montessori program.
  • Successful completion of all required background checks and licensing requirements.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to actively engage with children and perform the physical duties required to maintain a safe, organized, and dynamic classroom environment.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least a high school diploma, with a preference for degrees in education or related fields. Experience in early childhood education and a commitment to Montessori principles are strongly preferred.
