The Faculty HR Assistant provides operational support for faculty human resources activities including onboarding, compensation, and record management. The role also involves executing HRIS transactions in Workday and providing customer service to faculty and managers.

About the Opportunity Job Summary

The Faculty Human Resources Assistant provides HR operations and business process support across all the College of Professional Studies (CPS) division’s faculty human resources activities, including onboarding, compensation, record management, contract management, hiring, performance management, offboarding, training, and I-9 compliance. The Faculty HR Assistant provides vital customer service to the division's managers and employees, answering inquiries and directing employees to resources. This role provides broad exposure to foundational HR and administrative operations and serves as an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in human resources, higher education administration, or business operations. Working in a collaborative, process-oriented environment, the position offers continuous opportunities to develop new skills, gain hands-on experience, and grow professionally within a culture that values lifelong learning. Job Duties 1) New Hire Support (30%): Acting as the primary point of contact when onboarding new hires, including new hire communications and I9s; Serving as a knowledgeable resource for hiring managers, guiding them through divisional onboarding practices.

2) HRIS Transactions & Support (30%)

Executing transactions in Workday, including payments, job changes, academic appointments, offboarding transactions, and communications.

3) Customer Service (15%)

Providing excellent customer service by responding to inquiries from faculty and faculty managers as appropriate, troubleshooting issues, and directing employees to the appropriate team member, HR Business Partner, or university HR contact as needed.

4) Records/Reporting (15%)

Maintaining personnel files and records. Retrieving, organizing, and compiling data as requested; routinely auditing data for accuracy; running reports as needed.

5) Other (10%)

Assisting with administrative tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications

Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, follow-through, and efficiency. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a complex organizational environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and provide exceptional customer service to individuals at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated maturity, professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment. Collaborative team player with a flexible approach to work, a willingness to learn, and a proactive mindset toward improving processes and enhancing the employee experience. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems and apply them effectively to daily responsibilities. A bachelor's degree is required. This is an entry-level role based in Boston, MA, with a hybrid work schedule that requires at least two days per week in the office. Position Type Human Resources
