About the role

The lecturer is responsible for teaching assigned courses within the School of Social Work and maintaining regular office hours for student support. They must also manage grading, provide enrollment data, and engage in professional development to remain current in the discipline.

General Summary

Teach specific courses within the School of Social Work. Background in Social Work and familiarity with the curriculum and teaching are essential.

Principal

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach contractual load of courses as assigned by the department or school.

Assign and submit grades in accordance with established University schedules.

Keep posted office hours during the week which are scheduled at times most beneficial to students.

Provide enrollment data and such other information as corrected class lists, etc. as may be required by the University.

Engage in pursuits that enable them to remain current in their respective disciplines.

Confer periodically with the Department Head/School Director on curriculum and instruction issues.

Provide other support service to the department, college and/or university, if applicable.

Perform related departmental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Lecturer I

Master's degree, or a Bachelor's degree plus thirty (30) graduate credit hours in a discipline directly related to the teaching assignment, or equivalent, as determined by the Department Head/School Director.

Lecturer II

Master's degree plus thirty (30) hours toward a terminal degree, All But Dissertation status (ABD) or equivalent, as determined by the Department Head/School Director.

Lecturer III

An earned doctorate, terminal degree that is recognized as equivalent to the doctorate in the applicable Departmental Evaluation Document, or equivalent as determined by the Department Head/School Director.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred LLMSW or LMSW.

Requirements

Candidates must hold at least a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with thirty graduate credit hours in a related discipline. Preferred qualifications include holding an LLMSW or LMSW certification.
