The coach is responsible for instructing student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training while fostering character development and self-discipline. They must also ensure student safety, monitor academic progress, and maintain compliance with school and athletic association regulations.

Education: No Minimum Requirement Experience: Previous coaching experience in assigned sport desirable License or Certification: Certification in care and prevention of athletic injuries, basic first-aid, CPR and AED. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program. Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport. (Major sports) The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
